The previous coating on the headlights is referred to as a &#8222;scab&#8220;. However, the Delta Kits Professional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/systems\/\">Headlight Restoration System<\/a> can still restore the headlights to a like-new condition.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EzfGE-jWqZE?rel=0&amp;wmode=opaque\" width=\"100%\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Video Description: Restoring a Headlight with Previous Coating<\/h3>\n<p>Using a Delta Kits Professional Headlight Restoration System, we remove a coating that was previously applied to a set of headlights. \u00a0First, we begin by masking off around the headlights. \u00a0As you can see in the middle of the lens, there is a &#8222;scab&#8220; left over from the previous coating. \u00a0The technician applies the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/system-supplies-hr\/coatings-and-cleaners\/product\/433-clean2prep-spray\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CLEAN2PREP<\/a> spray to remove the dirt and dust, then sands to remove the previously applied coating with the Metabo stripper\/polisher (part number HLSTRP300).<\/p>\n<p>The technician starts sanding with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/product\/439-headlight-restoration-3-sanding-discs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">320 grit sanding disc<\/a> using light pressure, to remove the previous coating, or scab.<\/p>\n<p>Between sanding steps, we rinse with water to ensure all the scab has been removed.<\/p>\n<p>We continue sanding with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/product\/439-headlight-restoration-3-sanding-discs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">600 grit<\/a>. Again, we rinse to ensure we have sanded evenly.<\/p>\n<p>We continue sanding with the 600 grit. Again, we rinse in between steps.<\/p>\n<p>We continue sanding with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/product\/439-headlight-restoration-3-sanding-discs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1500 grit<\/a>\u00a0sanding disc. Again, we rinse to ensure we&#8217;ve sanded evenly.<\/p>\n<p>Then, we polish the headlight lens with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/product\/449-headlight-restoration-3-polishing-disc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3000 grit<\/a> polishing disc to assure the clarity is brought back to the lens. We rinse, once again with the CLEAN2PREP solution before applying the UV coating.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the technician applies the proper mixture of the COAT2PROTECT UV coating. He applies it with a lint-free paper towel.
