<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The glass buffing compound in this video is used in conjunction with the Delta Kits Scratch Repair Polishing Wheel to remove scratches from windscreens, tempered glass and plate glass. The compound works great for windscreen wiper burns and other light scratch removal. For added protection, be sure to wear safety gloves and glasses, and be sure to protect the vehicle from over spray.<\/p>\n<p>The polishing wheel used with the compound to remove scratches and wiper marks from glass. The wheel features a dense, wool-felt wheel mounted to an aluminum adapter plate. The wheel is 1″ x 3″ with a 1\/4″ shank and attaches to standard drills. It should be used at a minimum of 1300 RPM.<\/p>\n<p>First, saturate your polishing felt with warm water, and then make a thin paste containing 2 parts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deltakits.net\/shop\/headlight-restoration-products\/system-supplies-hr\/other-system-supplies-hr\/product\/327-cerium-oxide-buffing-compound\/\">cerium oxide<\/a> mixed well with 1 part warm* water. Put cerium oxide paste evenly on the polishing felt. Turn the polisher on and apply to the glass in a scrubbing or ironing motion, never just a back-and-forth motion. Pressure will be necessary at first, and then you should gradually reduce pressure until only the weight of the polisher is used. Do not let the wheel or paste dry out or scratching may occur.<\/p>\n<p>Soaking the felt wheel in water for several minutes prior to beginning the polishing process will help to assure that the wheel does not dry out.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: The shaft of the polishing wheel may be reversed to fit electric drills with 3\/8″ or larger chucks, or removed to fit electric polishers with standard 5\/8″ x 11 spindles. Use only drills or polishers that run at speeds of 1300 rpm or higher. Cordless tools are not recommended for extended use.<\/p>\n<p>*Heat chemically activates the cerium.
